FILLING:
Air from the tanker is filtered before venting. |
Inside the filter can hang 300 filter tubes. Each tube is 1" x 36" for a total surface area of 235 sq.ft. of filter. Maximum air flow of 1,100 cfm. |
SPREADING:
NESCO "Micro-mist" dust control uses only 1.5 gpm of water. |
| While spreading 1% portland in Alaska with 35 mph winds, the "Micro-mist" not only captured the dust, but put a very thin damp cap on the cement to prevent being blown away. | |||
The pneumatic fill pipe (behind cab) allows for filling directly from the tanker truck. While spreading, dust is contained by "dust curtains" hanging below the folding booms (shown) or the auger.

Pull-type spreaders are also available, up to 25 ton capacity. PTO unloads the hopper. The auger, auger sections and rear gate are hydraulic. Auxiliary engines available.
Open top spreader for granular materials and small jobs. 5, 8 and 15 ton models. PTO body chain and hydraulic auger.
Trailer units to 25 tons. Engine packages and radar / GPS computer control optional. |
Truck mounted units can be large enough to hold a full tanker, i.e., 25 tons.
The spreader auger (8, 10 or 12 ft wide) with tapered openings delivers a level pattern, up to 120 lb / sq.yd. |
At the job site...55,000 lb hopper spreading a 12 ft swath, to be followed by a 6 ft swath to complete the job. (Portland cement on sand.)

THE SPREADER:
The Stoltz Site Spreaders use a 30" wide drag chain to unload into the spreading auger. The gate opening over the chain determines the rate per sq.ft. The spread width is determined by opening flaps under the auger. |
