Stoltzfus "Bulk Material Spreader" (BMS). The compost, lime, litter, gypsum and sludge spreader. |
|
![]() |
Stockpiled mushroom soil provides a nice, uniform layer of rich organic material. |
![]() |
Self-contained hydraulics via PTO-powered pump drive the 30-inch wide conveyor chain and the dual hydraulic spinners. |
![]() |
The BMS series spreaders have over-sized hoppers for light materials, but a heavy-duty driveline for damp lime. |
![]() |
The uniform spread pattern is the result of over a half century of building lime spreaders. |
![]() |
The BMS Series has the hopper capacity for bulky materials such as poultry litter or compost and the power and strength to spread damp, stockpiled ag lime. |

BMS 5010 - 137 cu.ft. 10 ft long
hopper and 5 ton suspension
BMS 8016 - 223 cu.ft. 16 ft long hopper and 8 ton suspension (shown here) BMS 1516 - "Industrial strength" 16 ft model for Custom Applicators (15 ton) BMS 8020 - Extreme high output, 400 cu ft hopper. NOT for lime. |

Features fully welded side
braces, walking-beam suspension, heavy-duty gearbox and pintle
chain.
The top-driven spinners are designed to keep vibrations from the spinner discs from damaging the seals on the hydraulic motors. |
![]() |
The BMS all have a 30-inch wide
conveyor chain, extra high rear gate opening and dual top-driven hydraulic
spinners.
(Top-driven spinners are insulated from vibrations caused by uneven or irregular loading caused by lumps. This protects the motor seals.) |

53-degree side slope, followed by a 4-inch drop down to the exposed-link conveyor chain prevent bridging, and allow full power for breaking up lumps. |

The inverted-V "center
cover" is used only when spreading ag lime. This relieves the
conveyor chain of part of the starting load.
With the optional fertilizer package, the BMS will also spread fertilizer to as low as 200 lb/ac. |
